Competition FAQ
According to ISU Rule 830 item 4. “After registering at accreditation for a competition, Teams may not practice at a rink other than the official rink”. I have sought advice on this and confirmed that up until their Official Practice session, teams are able to practice on other ice other than the competition rink. After Official Practice and until the end of competition a team may not practice on any other ice.
Competition process and procedures:
-
The first announcement will be for the start of a Division. The Referee may allow a team to enter the ice beforehand but the announcement is not a call for a team to get ready to start;
-
Each team will be allowed a minimum of one minute warm-up time. They may not want to use the time but cannot start until the team's name is announced;
-
On the Referee's signal to the Announcer they will announce the team by name. This is the signal for the team to get into position and get ready to start. Teams are allowed up to a maximum of 30 seconds to get ready from this announcement; and then
-
The music will be started on signal from a team member when ready, or when the 30 seconds from the team name announcement, whichever comes first.
Ice Synchro WA will hold its 2019 Championships in accordance with the policies of Western Australian Ice Skating Association (WAISA) and the rules of Ice Skating Australia (ISA).
